1. Introduction & source of 5-HTP:
Hydroxytryptophan (5-htp) is a natural amino acid metabolism intermediate. It is used in the body as a precursor to serotonin (serotonin, 5-ht) (which in turn ACTS as a precursor to melatonin). Griffonia seed are rich in 5-hydroxytryptophan and are the main natural source of 5-HTP.
